Metabolism

Colbi Bruce by Jay Fuertez Photography
How many times have you starved yourself trying to lose either a few, or a few hundred pounds? Did it work? Odds are you did lose a few pounds, but a week later those same pounds found their way back onto your body. The reason you gained all the hard earned pounds back has nothing to do with your genes, for most people, but everything to do with your metabolism.
No one is born with a "slow metabolism". Your metabolism responds to the nutrients fueling it and your lifestyle. There is always that one person you know that eats whatever they want and never grows a "gut". This person actually doesn’t have a "fast metabolism", they have a naturally efficient metabolism. This means that a person utilizes every nutrient taken in as the body naturally intended it to be used. Fats are used for insulation, carbohydrates are used as fuel for all body processes, and proteins are used to repair and build the body.
How does the average person obtain this "efficient metabolism"? It’s not easy, but it is simple . . . EAT MORE!
